Story:-
The end of the eighties in the twentieth century. Alois Nebel works as a dispatcher at the small railway station in Bílý Potok, a remote village on the Czech–Polish border. He's a loner, who prefers old timetables to people, and he finds the loneliness of the station tranquil – except when the fog rolls in. Then he hallucinates, sees trains from the last hundred years pass through the station. They bring ghosts and shadows from the dark past of Central Europe. Alois can’t get rid of these nightmares and eventually ends up in sanatorium.
In the sanatorium, he gets to know The Mute, a man carrying an old photograph who was arrested by the police after crossing the border. No one knows why he came to Bílý Potok or who he’s looking for, but it is his past that propels Alois on his journey…

Příběh (Story)
Příběh filmu začíná na podzim roku 1989 na železniční stanici Bílý Potok v Jeseníkách, kde slouží jako výpravčí Alois Nebel (Miroslav Krobot). Nebel je tichý samotář, kterého čas od času přepadne podivná mlha. Nejčastěji se mu v ní zjevuje Dorothe (Tereza Voříšková), oběť násilného odsunu Němců po 2. světové válce.
Šedivé dny na nádraží v Bílém Potoce na sklonku socialismu líně plynou, výhybkář Wachek (Leoš Noha) společně se svým otcem (Alois Švehlík) kšeftují s důstojníky sovětské armády. Poklidnou atmosféru naruší jednoho dne Němý (Karel Roden), který překročí hranice se sekyrou v ruce, aby pomstil svoji matku. Halucinace nakonec Nebela přivedou do blázince a přijde o místo výpravčího.
Vydá se do Prahy hledat jinou práci u dráhy a na Hlavním nádraží najde svou životní lásku, toaletářku Květu (Marie Ludvíková). Nebel se rozhodne vrátit zpátky do hor, aby se znovu setkal s Němým a souboj s temnými stíny minulosti dovedl do konce.

Květa is the toilet custodian at the Central Station in Prague. She is the widow of a dispatcher who died in a railroad accident. She loves railway men and order. Her booth in the toilets of the Central Station is a kind of tiny sitting room, the only cheerful place amid the jumble and chaos.

Květa je toaletářka z pražského Hlavního nádraží. Vdova po výpravčím, který zemřel při železničním neštěstí. Miluje železničáře a pořádek. Její budka na toaletách na Hlavním nádraží je takový malý obýváček, jediné přívětivé misto v tom zmatku a chaosu.
Wachek is about ten years younger than Nebel. He’s an informer and a schemer. At the train station he’s the switchman but he’d rather become the dispatcher and get his hands on Nebel’s apartment.

Wachek je asi o deset let mladší než Nebel. Je to fízl a křivák. Na stanici pracuje jako výhybkář, ale rád by se stal výpravčím a získal Nebelův byt a postavení.
His mother was raped by Old Wachek during the deportation of the Germans. He was born in Poland, in Krakow, where she fled afterwards. His mother, plagued her whole life by what she lived through in Bílý Potok, fell into prostitution.

Neznámý mlčenlivý muž, který jednoho dne přejde polsko-českou hranici a objeví se na nádraží v Bílém Potoce. Nikdo neví, proč přišel a koho hledá. Vyzbrojen svým mlčením a starou fotografií, která je jeho jediným vodítkem.
Old Wachek is the father of Wachek and also the Mute. During the war he collaborated with the Germans, and after he became a fanatic revolutionary guard and communist. He actively participated in the expulsion of the Germans. He killed the switchman Müller and raped his daughter.

Z vězení propuštěný zlodějíček a podvodník, kterému se Hlavní nádraží v Praze stalo druhým domovem. Zloprcek a parazit, který umí ve všem dobře chodit.
He was born in Prague, where he worked as the head waiter in an elegant restaurant. He ran a scam and after he was convicted of it, he was forced to leave Prague. He ended up as something of an émigré at the train depot in Bily Potok. Even though he works in a dirty pub among the peasants he maintains his attitude of noblesse oblige.

Narodil se v Praze, kde také pracoval jako vrchní číšník v elegantní restauraci. Dopustil se podvodu a po odsouzení byl donucený Prahu opustit. Skončil jako vyhnanec v Sudetech, v nádražce stanice Bílý Potok. I když pracuje ve špinavé hospodě mezi venkovany, jeho chování nepostrádá noblesu.
