DisneyToon Studios is an Animated Studio, which mainly works on Direct To DVD or some time works on featured animated films.It is owned by Walt Disney Company and its works on the films for Walt Disney Studios, It was founded on '1988' as Walt Disney Animation Australia and later in 2003 it was changed to 'DisneyToon Studio'.
In the year 1988 Walt Disney Animation Australia was started for Disney Television Series, It is responsible for providing animated series for television in Asia.
On 3rd August 1990 this studio releases its first featured animated film named as 'DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp'. This first film was based on the main character 'Scrooge McDuck' from DuckTales an American Animated Series for Television. Walt Disney Television Animation has made 4 seasons of DuckTails of about 100 episodes during the period of 18th September 1987 till 28th November 1990.
After success of Walt Disney Animation Australia, Walt Disney Television Animation setup two more in France and Japan, both Walt Disney Animation Japan and Walt Disney Animation France was founded on 1989.
With the change in name of Walt Disney Animation Australia to DisneyToon Studios in 2003 it became only production company for Disney creating traditional animated films after they shut down Disney Studios in France, Florida and Japan.
On October 2006 DisneyToon Studios in Australia was closed down after 17 years of service to Disney for many remarkable animated series for television and featured films. On 22nd June 2007 Walt Disney Animation Studios took DisneyToons Studios under it as production company and now it now only produce traditional animated film but also computer animated films.
